As the world's thirdlargest employment services provider, the Dutch parent company - Randstad Holding nv - generated revenues of BEUR 9.2 in 2007 with a total of roughly 390,000 employees. In Germany alone, revenues of roughly BEUR 1.62 were generated.

Implementation of this highly complex outsourcing project not only involved a challenge of particularly great magnitude, rather with this step of changing its hosting partner Randstad strove to achieve the goal of significantly improving the stability and performance for all of its enterprise-critical applications. Furthermore, in the future the selected service provider must also offer convincingly quick response times and greater flexibility in productive operation.

From a technical standpoint, the SAP system landscape is operated based on several clustered and highly available IBM pSeries servers on an IBM AIX platform. The SAP Solution Manager assists in controlling and monitoring these systems. Along with the SAP applications, in its data centers itelligence also supports a very extensive Citrix Server Farm for Randstad as well as non-SAP applications, thus operating all central IT systems for Randstad Deutschland. The agreed services are provided around the clock 7x24 and hence are secured by a disaster recovery concept.
